She’s flown high like A G6, dropped the bass down low, and now…she’s dancing in the dark.
California-born Dev is back with a brand new beat: “In The Dark,” a frenzied mixture of the deep bass thumps of “Like A G6” and “Bass Down Low” and the infamous saxophone riff of Rune‘s 2003 classic, “Calabria.”
The tune a complete and utter ear-worm; the perfect blend of Ibiza-ready pulsations and icy electronica. Between Dev’s naughty come-ons (“When you work on me / Open my body up and do some surgery”) and the unstoppable saxophone riff, there’s little hope for remaining stationary.
And as for the song’s best moment? “I got a sex drive to push to start,” Dev speak-sings, stuttered and smashed on repeat until the end of time. AMAZING!
Put it on, and let your hands do what they want…
No word on an official release date for the single just yet, but stay tuned.
(Also, how much are we loving that single cover? So “Slave To The Rhythm”!)
Dev’s debut album will be released in September. (iTunes)
