As the countdown to Born This Way nears its end (one week to go), Lady Gaga‘s promotional duties are now reaching maximum capacity.
After appearing on The Graham Norton Show in the UK, the Lady took to the stage in Carlisle, England for Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
The singer kicked off the set with “Born This Way,” wheeled in via coffin and zipped tight into a latex pregnancy outfit (which did not burst into flames as hoped, but rather anti-climatically detached two-thirds into the song). A tasteful pro-choice statement, no doubt.
The Gagz went on to perform a blow-out showcase of new and old songs alike Sunday night, including “Bad Romance,” “Telephone,” “Poker Face,” “Alejandro,” “Speechless,” her first live piano performance of “The Edge of Glory,” “You & I,” a small taste of “Americano” and “Judas.”
And in what was perhaps the most surprising part of the set, Gaga nixed the synthesizers for a hot minute (or twenty) with a slew of extended jazz interludes, trumpet solos and even a cover of Nat King Cole‘s classic, “Orange Colored Sky”–all of which proved a bit trying for a few Little Monsters.
Not enough for you? Well, don’t worry–Gaga will be performing on Saturday Night Live this week, as well as Good Morning America and the MTV Japan Awards next week.
