Two of the UK’s leading boy bands, JLS and The Wanted, are about to release the lead singles from both of their upcoming studio albums this summer. Two summery club anthems. Two boy bands. AT THE SAME TIME. And to make matters even better–both songs have just premiered on UK radio!
The Wanted: The dreamy London-based boy band will release their all-too-conveniently titled “Glad You Came” on July 10 in the UK. (You’re welcome.)
“Glad You Came” was produced by Steve Mac, the UK power-pop producer responsible for thousands of pop gems since the early ’90’s: From Boyzone to Westlife, Kelly Clarkson to Emma Bunton, to The Wanted’s own debut single, “All Time Low.” In fact, the song itself was co-penned by Mac, Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett–the same dream team behind their debut single.
“The sun comes down, the stars come out / And all that counts is here and now,” the boys croon above blazing, summery synthesizers and a storming bassline. It’s one of the sexiest moments yet for the boys (and their actual club cut)–undoubtedly yet another smash single in the making!
With a video being shot in Ibiza and an upcoming remix by famed Italian DJ Alex Gaudino (“Destination Calabria”) already in the works, it seems as though The Wanted are about to dive deep onto the dance floor scene this summer.

JLS: The X Factor alums return this summer with “She Makes Me Wanna” on July 24, featuring “Like A G6″/”Bass Down Low” monotone mistress, Dev. The track was produced by pop producer of the moment, RedOne, but only after the group bid roughly $50,000 at Alicia Keys‘ Black Charity Ball last year for the opportunity to hit the studio with the Gaga hit-maker. Now that’s determination!
Featuring catchy chants and pulsating electronic beats, “She Makes Me Wanna” sounds incredibly similar to most major club jams of the moment–especially Chris Brown‘s 2010 smash, “Yeah 3X” (or even Britney‘s “Till The World Ends”!) “It’s kind of funny / I was just thinking ’bout how you make me…(OH!),” Dev speak-sings as her verse begins.
While the summery synth-pop banger certainly doesn’t breach new territory, “She Makes Me Wanna” is nearly destined to be a massive club hit in the UK…and perhaps even beyond!
