Oh my God, okay.
Y’know those DJ Earworm end of year megamixes that everyone drools over for like half a day? The ones that mesh together all the hits of the past year? Well, Bonnie McKee‘s just done that by herself at a piano — because she’s written every smash you’ve already heard played to death on the radio.
Earlier today, the songwriting superstar uploaded an acoustic medley of her biggest hits — from Godney‘s “Hold It Against Me,” to Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “Part of Me,” “Wide Awake,” and “California Gurls,” to Taio Cruz‘s “Dynamite” and Ke$ha‘s “C’Mon.”
The only thing more impressive about the powerhouse chops (seriously, that voice!) and those effortless transitions is the part when you sit back afterward and realize: She’s responsible for all of this.
Bonnie dropped a new song called “American Girl” last month, which is a fantastic first taste of things to come. Conveniently enough, she also dropped by the Idolator studio this afternoon (both she and that hair are just as fabulous in person, trust!) for an interview and an acoustic performance, and it sounds like there’s only more amazingness coming down the pipeline very soon.
It’s about time for Miss McKee’s second shot at superstardom to begin.
