Never one to simply settle for a 30 minute Twitter Q&A with her Little Monsters, Sister Swine Lady Gaga has decided to tease 10 (plus two) seconds of her upcoming ARTPOP track, “G.U.Y.” which, as we’ve known for a while now, stands for “Girl Under You.”
Here’s what Gagaloo had to say about the song to Stylist back in 2012 (and yes, they got the title wrong at the time):
Any kind of feminist has valid views for herself about what it means to be a feminist, but, as a new-age feminist, I would say I quite like the transference of strength I feel by submitting to a man – being under him. I actually wrote a song about it on my album, it’s called GUY and it stands for Go Under You. So wearing make-up, smelling delicious and having suckable, kissable, edible things between your limbs is something I find strengthening because I know that when I pick the right guy, I can let him have it. Some women feel oppressed by make-up and clothing, and here’s to them, they have every right to feel that way as well.
Perfect. As for the snippet? Well…it sounds fucking amazing, actually.
That whining chorus is already permanently melded to my brain — and those handclaps at the very end? Y.E.S. (Still very much living for that “Applause,” evidently.)
But wait, what is that opening line? Is it really “Love me, love me…please retweet”?! I hope it’s actually that. If her insatiable Twitter thirst has spilled into her music, that would be the very definition of a Reverse Warholian #ARTPOP extravaganza.
This also marks a huge win for the Brazilians. Please RT for Brazil!
‘ARTPOP’ will be released on November 11. (iTunes)
