One of the best ways to appreciate an artist’s work is to take a deep-dive into their record collection to understand the music that’s currently shaping their sound. Each month or so, I’m inviting one artist to collaborate with MuuMuse on a MuuMix — a mixtape featuring their favorite songs and remixes of the moment, as well as their own music and rare Excluusives — all curated into one handy compilation.
MuuMix is officially back for more. (MOAH!)
Following Swedish rapper/singer-songwriter XOV‘s debut MuuMix back in February, I’ve invited the enchanting King Deco to take over this month with her very own selection of tunes.
If you’ve not yet been properly Introduuced, a quick briefing: The Jordan-born, Brooklyn-based songstress first caught my attention back in March with her mesmerizing debut “One (feat. Kinetics),” a swirly thing of beauty. The song’s included on King Deco’s debut mini-EP Tigris along with “Laila” and “Ocean,” which premiered on MuuMuse earlier this month.
King Deco’s MuuMix features plenty of faves — from Betty Who to Jhene Aiko to Beyoncé to a glorious cover of Jennifer Paige‘s “Crush” (!) — as well as King Deco’s own “One,” plus an Excluusive remix of Tigris track “Ocean.”
