LET’S GET LOUD.
Jennifer J.Lo La Lopez Lola Jenny From The Block Same Girl Lopez is officially throwing on her Louboutins and returning to us with her tenth (!) studio album, A.K.A., due out on June 17.
The ‘A.K.A’ probably stands for the phrase “Also Known As,” but it could also stand for…
– Ask Kesha Anything
– Any Kale Available?
– Apples Kill Aardvarks
– Are Kilts Androgynous
– Apathetic Kite Adventure
We may never truly know.
Also, can we talk about that cover photo for a hot second? FUEGO. J.Lo’s giving you Madonna Erotica-meets-The Cell-meets-Enough ferocity with that patent leather belt-buckle top and I-wish-a-bitch-would stare. ¡Me gusta, mami!
Jenny’s already dropped “Same Girl” and “Girls,” as well as future United States national anthem “I Luh Ya Papi” and, most recently, her Max Martin-produced banga, “First Love.”
Here’s how she feels about AKA:
“Music has always been my First Love…. [DO YOU SEE WHAT SHE DID THERE] As a girl who grew up in the Bronx, I listened to everything” said Lopez. “In my career I have always made music that is a reflection of me… and where I am in my life… I do what I feel …and do things that feel authentic to me. I am a lot of different things and I do a lot of different things. I love Hip Hop, Pop, Dance Music and R&B. And on this, my 10th album release, I have created a collection of songs that make me feel good and make me feel happy.”
Did you know? Jennifer Lopez is from the Bronx. (She really ought to do a song about it at some point.) Fun fact: Do you know which other pop star is from New York? Lady Gaga! (I had no idea, either.)
A.K.A. features a L.O.T. of collaborators, including French Montana, Rick Ross, TI, Pitbull, Iggy Azalea, Tyga, Sia, Chantal, Kirby, Chris Brown, Max Martin and Savan, Detail, RoccStar, DJ Mustard, Diplo, Harmony, Pop and Oak and Cory Rooney. (Somewhere, J.Lo’s in the mix as well.)
I, for one, cannot wait. Now go #BuyFirstLoveILuhYaPapiSameGirlGirlsOniTunes.
