What’s new in the life and times of Gahyrls Aloid?
Sarah Harding is alternating between wanking off (quite literally) and generally self-destructing in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Cheryl Tweedy Cole Fernandez-Versini Payne is singing acoustic renditions of “Sexy Den A Mutha” to Bear Payne, Kimberley Walsh is personally threatening my career by becoming a blogger, and Nicola Roberts is cruelly taking studio selfies without ever actually releasing any new solo music ever again.
Oh, and as for Queen Nuhdeen? Why, she’s just preparing for a proper musical comeback — Nadine 3.0, if you will.
Following the recent joyous surprise of Nadine’s new deal with Virgin EMI Records — a massive step above a Tesco exclusive distribution deal in the eyes of the public, surely — the “Insatiable” diva’s been giving tiny teases of what’s to come from her recording sessions with the Xenomania icon behind the Almighty Aloud’s success, Brian Higgins: first in the form of money, honey — and then, as of today (Aug. 21), entire lyrics for her forthcoming song — and a very Tangled Up-era font for a logo.

PopJustice Forum sleuths not only sniffed out the lyrics for the track (now on Genius), which is called “Go To Work” (!), but insiders have thoroughly described the sound, too.
“It’s not the camp pop that I secretly hoped for but it’s more current 90’s easy listening dance,” writes one.
“It’s actually quite similar to ‘Something New’…this is the most Girls Aloud solo song yet. I might even go as far to say more so than ‘On The Metro,’ which I’ve always felt sounded like a Nicola Roberts b-side,” casually suggests another listener, as if that isn’t the most incredible news of the year.
The great news is that the consensus — along with the repetitive, semi-nonsensical style of these lyrics — suggests that this is about as Aloud Sound™ as we’d ever hope to get in 2017. That, and it’s a song about “work.” And as we already know, it is Objectively Impossible to release a pop song about “Work”-ing that isn’t incredible. (Ask Britney, Ciara and Kelly Rowland, among others.)
That new music from Nadine is even coming in the first place is proof that, no matter how dark these days may be, all is not entirely lost.
Brahyng et on, Nuhdz.

[Intro] Go to work, work, work, work, work, work
[Verse 1] Sunlight wakes me upSay good morning
Then I’m rolling
I’m still holding on to you
Seven forty five
The day is dawning [Pre] Tell me what I gotta do to
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Tell me what I gotta do to
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Tell me what I gotta do to [Chorus] Why don’t you go to work, do your nine to five
Gotta treat me right, you need to earn your stripes
Why don’t you do your thing
Bring the money home just like mama done
Why don’t you go to work
Why don’t you go to work
Do your nine to five
Gotta treat me right
You need to earn your stripes
Why don’t you do your thing
Bring the money home just like mama done
Why don’t you go to work [Hook] Why don’t you go work
Why don’t you go work
Why don’t you go work
What I gotta do
Why don’t you go work
Why don’t you go work
Why don’t you go work
What I gotta do [Verse 2] Now you’re acting up
I think it’s stalling
Appreciate boy
That’s all I need from you

Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Tell me what I gotta do to
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning
Get you up in the morning

Why don’t you do your thing
Bring the money home just like mama done
Why don’t you go to work
Why don’t you go to work
Do your nine to five
