BLACKPINK is preparing to give us their new single (a Cold Popsicle, it seems?) with Selena Gomez in mere days, but Jisoo‘s already got additional plans.
The 25-year-old member of the unstoppable “Boombayah” South Korean girl group is preparing to star as the lead in an upcoming Korean drama, tentatively called Snowdrop, which is in talks to air on JTBC, MyDaily reported Tuesday (August 18) via Soompi.
Aside from various variety show appearances, a cameo in The Producers, Arthdal Chronicles and hosting duties, this will mark Jisoo’s first main actress gig – a huge move.
“It is true that Jisoo is starring in the new drama Snowdrop,” YG Entertainment confirmed in a statement following the report.
The drama will be penned by Yoo Hyun Mi and directed by Jo Hyun Tak, the same team behind the hit series SKY Castle, which you can watch right here.
It’s been a while since I last watched a K-drama: back in 2017, I gleefully binged My Secret Romance, featuring Secret‘s Jieun, and it was a cheesy and bizarre thrill. (You can watch that here.) There’s no way I’m skipping out on a Jisoo-led drama, though. EGOT Jisoo incoming! So who’s ready to join me? Watch party? Post-episode viewing debriefing in a Discord? Let’s discuss.
And for everyone who’s solely here for Jisoo’s musical contributions, fear not: The Album is coming.
Blackpink’s How You Like That? special edition single album is out now.
