It’s A Celebration: Madonna’s Greatest Hits Tour Is Officially Happening

Come join the party, yeah.

I’m going to tell you a (poorly kept) secret: Madonna is going on tour, officially.

After a stadium in Uruguay spilled the beans late last year, and she herself began posting photos with her longtime tour director Jamie King, the Queen of TikTok™ officially confirmed on Tuesday (January 17) that she is embarking on The Celebration Tour, a celebration of four decades of greatest hits, named after her 2009 greatest hits compilation and song. (The Benny Benassi remix is the definitive version, but that’s another conversation.)

The “Frozen” icon made the big announcement with a REFERENCE to herself, recreating Truth or Dare with a roundtable of celebrities, including Diplo, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Bob The Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Meg Stalter, Eric Andre and Amy Schumer, who dares Madonna to go on tour and perform her hits.

The tour kicks off in North America on Saturday, July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver (which apparently now I’ll be visiting for the first time), stopping in cities like Detroit (her hometown show!), New York (other places make her feel like a dork), Miami, Los Angeles, and more before going to Europe, hitting cities like London, Barcelona, Paris, and Stockholm.

The Celebration Tour will (allegedly) wrap in Amsterdam on Friday, December 1 at Ziggo Dome – but we’ll see if that’s actually the case.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna said in a statement, via Live Nation.

The Celebration Tour will take us on Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began,” the official description declares.

Bob the Drag Queen will also be the special guest on all dates across the global tour, which is an incredible win – and a pretty good explanation for why he shelved the second leg of his Sibling Rivalry Tour with Monet X Change. (If Madonna calls…you don’t hang up.)

Tickets go on sale on Friday (January 20) and Friday (January 27) at 10 am local time, with all info here. The Citi presale begins today (January 17) at 2 p.m. local time here. Legacy members of the Fan Club have a pre-sale opportunity starting today (January 17) at 12 p.m. ET, and you can get the tour and ticket info here.

There are also VIP Packages available, with the biggest being the “The Immaculate VIP package” – which reveals that the general admission pits are named after the venues she performed at when she was getting her start in New York City. (Genius.)

Here’s all the info. Prayers to all of your bank accounts, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
