‘Celebration Tour’ in Rio: Madonna Takes Us Behind-the-Scenes, One Year Later

Fabulous is comfortable.

Take me back to God’s country: Celebration Tour.

Madonna, Her Madgesty, is marking the (almost) one year anniversary of the record-breaking final stop of her tour with a behind-the-scenes video, providing an all-too-brief glimpse of the chaos leading up to the free Copacabana Beach show in Rio de Janeiro.

You said come to Brazil. And oh, she did.

Highlights include:

Bob the Drag Queen’s electrifying intro. “This is not just a show. This is not just a concert. This is not just a party. IT’S A CELEBRATION, BITCHES.” Still get chills as “Nothing Really Matters” kicks in. Still the best, most inspired opening song she could ever pick. I’ll never shut up about it.

– Cute rehearsal footage with sweet Pabllo Vittar, in full fan-girl mode, while preparing a special samba-fied rendition of “Music” for Brazil. (“The favela won.”)

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Brazilian flag-inspired corset, and all the drama that went into its design. “Fabulous is comfortable.” Forcing Maddie to sweat it out and break it in. “We do as mother tells us to.”

Stuart Price’s dry humor, over and over, and the effort that went into adapting the show for the outside.

– A proud mom and her kids.

– Madonnamania, 40+ years deep into her career.

Madonna MuuMuse headline

– Me (well, MuuMuse), front and center, amid all of the headlines. (No, I’m not okay.)

I’d go 500 more times if I could.

Now M, please, no more teasing: release the concert special/Blu-ray/whatever it is. And M15.
