Can you believe?
It’s already been an entire decade since Carly Rae Jepsen – known ’round these parts as Godly Raemmaculate Jepselegend, if you’ve been here for a while – released The Pop Bible of the ’10s™, E•MO•TION, an objectively start-to-finish perfect pop production. (A few thoughts from the time period, when my brain was still working enough to wax poetic.)
And somehow, there are even more chapters from the scripture still to be discovered.
Hot off the heels of her sold-out E•MO•TION 10 year anniversary show at The Troubadour in LA last night (Tuesday, August 19), where she first performed songs from the album in 2015 (and where she just broke the venue’s record as over 100,000 fans tried to buy tickets for the 500-capacity room), CRJ has announced the 10th anniversary edition of her acclaimed studio album, due out on October 17.
In this day and age, no music fan is safe from a seemingly endless barrage of variants, anniversary releases, and daily panics about limited edition pressings. Not every album requires that much energy, but in this case, it’s essential – especially when there’s a seemingly endless amount of more.

The E•MO•TION 10th Anniversary Edition comes in a variety of formats to stress out over, including digital deluxe and ATMOS, the 1LP blue swirl color vinyl, the 1LP zoetrope vinyl, and the 2LP magenta swirl color vinyl with a special alternate cover, plus an insert of the original cover.
But most exciting of all? Even more E•MO•TION, dusted off from the vaults and about to see the light of day.
Yes, E•MO•TION Side B (review here) is (basically) getting a bit of a Side C follow-up, as the anniversary edition contains six bonus tracks, including both the Kyle Shearer (who did my personal favorite, “Never Get to Hold You”) and Rostam (who did the almighty “Warm Blood”) remixes of “Run Away With Me,” plus four previously unreleased tracks: “More,” “Guardian Angel,” “Back Of My Heart,” and “Lost In Devotion.”
“She proudly presents the definitive version of her pop opus now,” the official release declares.
And because she’s never one to keep us waiting, CRJ has already gone and unleashed the all too appropriately titled “More” from the vaults, produced alongside CJ Baran (who worked on “Emotion,” “Let’s Get Lost” and “Love Again”) and Arthur Besnaïnou.
It’s an (obviously) great ode to being perilously close to crossing the line with an already committed cutie. (“I’m afraid that your girl’s not here, and you wanna stay for a drink or two.’) It’s funky, flirty, maybe a touch Daft Punk-ian in the post-chorus, with Carly’s signature earnest, breathlessly love-drunk delivery in full effect.
“Feels like you were mine in another life,” she teases while playing with fire. “You and me, I always had the feeling that there might be something more.”
We’re genuinely so lucky to have Carly Rae Jepsen, the gift that keeps on giving. (Gimme love, gimme love, gimme love, gimme love!)
