Hot off the release of their sensational third single “Lose My Mind,” the men of The Wanted are back with a brand new beat: “Gold Forever,” pegged as the official charity single for 2011’s Comic Relief.
For those unfamiliar, Comic Relief is a yearly British national charity event dedicated to assisting the disadvantaged across the UK and Africa that centers around a major telethon night, Red Nose Day. Each year, one song is selected as the lead single for the campaign, such as 2007’s legendary Girls Aloud/Sugababes pairing, “Walk This Way.”
Similar to their past three singles, “Gold Forever” is a triumphant, epic-sounding mega-ballad. “We’re standing in a light that won’t fade / Tomorrow’s coming, but this won’t change / ‘Cause some days stay gold forever,” the boys croon during this ode to seizing the moment just before the song’s incredible, rave-y beat drop after the one-minute mark.
As with their debut, The Wanted only continue to break the boy band mold with “Gold Forever,” a sophisticated pop track complimented by smart hooks and solid production value. A class act through and through!
“Gold Forever” will be released on March 13. (iTunes UK)
