While the former Disney pop princess puts the finishing touches on her “very adult and sexy and believable” new record, she’s already begun spreading her Mileybird wings and starting in on her liberty walk.
This week–along with sizzling on the red carpet of the VMA’s last night–the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana debuted her newly revamped website, which includes a stunning set of new photos showing off her bold new buzzed look, a merchandise design contest and “The Backyard Sessions,” a set of of covers recorded by the future Mrs. Cyrus-Hemsworth and a group of her musically-inclined friends.
To kick it all off, Miley’s just unleashed (YES, UNLEASHED–she can’t be tamed!) the first video in the series: A jaw-dropping cover of the oft-covered James Shelton‘s “Lilac Wine.”
For anyone who’s ever questioned Miss Miley’s prowess as a true vocalist…well, just watch.
Smooth, soulful–and yes, still only 19 years old. Unbelievably amazing. I defy you to remain unimpressed.
