Britney‘s got an album coming in 2013, and quite literally nothing else in this world matters.
We’ve known this for a while from assorted rumblings, as well as a completely nonchalant ‘Oh this? Just here sitting in a recording studio casually with Darkchild, NBD’ moment on X Factor. But on December 30, The Holy Spearit confirmed the news publicly via Twitter by responding to fans out of nowhere with a post-Britmas message of hope, noting that she was “working hard” (“slaying your faves”) and “really focused” (“remaining a legend”) on new music, collaborating with some “new inspiring producers” (“coming for all sorts of wigs”).
As with every era, some writers have already started blabbering to the press about supposedly working with Britney–and they’re not always right. Elijah Blake, for instance, insisted that he was penning some groundbreaking stuff for the Queen of Phonography. But according to Entertainment Weekly‘s interview with one of B’s reps, that’s just not the case. SAY YOU’RE JUST A FRIEND, YOU’RE A LIL’ ELI-YAH. (REFERENCE.)
Instead, the rep confirmed a new collaborator that’s now in the mix: Hit-Boy, the talented producer behind Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s smash “Ni**as in Paris,” Rihanna‘s “Watch N’ Learn,” Kelly Rowland‘s “Lay It On Me” and, most importantly of all, the co-producer of Pussycat Dolls Doll Domination album track, “Love The Way You Love Me.”
This is fantastic news, seeing Hit-Boy is the definition of all things cool, amazing and urban, and further confirming that B’s indeed got a plan (get naked) to go ahead and record Blackout 2.0.
You know…
However, there was this one…other tidbit of news.
Of course, there’ll be seasoned Spears vets helping out too. Will.i.am, for instance, will be pitching in again.
EXCUSE ME NO.
It’s fine. Not really, but just ignore him. Keep calm and rock the spots: The Spearit will always see us through.
