EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SIT DOWN.
Today is the official premiere date of Rihanna‘s new single, “Only Girl (In The World).”
SPOILER ALERT: IT IS INCREDIBLY GOOD.
Much as with all of Riri’s past uptempo efforts, “Only Girl” is tailor-made for the dance floor. (Remixes can’t come quickly enough!)
Although produced by Stargate (“Please Don’t Stop The Music”), “Only Girl” actually sounds exactly like a solid David Guetta pumper, complete with ravey synths and a nice, shouty chorus. There’s also some nice, ’90’s-sounding dark club beats happening during the verses. I like that.
While nothing revolutionary in terms of sound (it’s sort of the definition of ‘modern radio’), “Only Girl” is still a rip-roaring good time, likely to garner the chart success for the Bajan banga that Kelly Rowland‘s “Commander” should have rightfully received months ago.
Oh, and if anyone calls this ‘safe,’ I’mma cut a ho. Forreal. Shut the fuck up. It’s amazing.
“Only Girl” is the lead single from Rihanna’s upcoming studio album due out in November, which is rumored to be titled Loud. Loving it.
