Cee Lo Green Prepares Summer Smash with Upcoming Single: “I Want You (Hold On To Love)”

Cee Lo Green‘s been keeping the world grooving for several years now thanks to his penchant for ceaselessly catchy melodies, including 2006’s “Crazy” (as Gnarls Barkley) and his 2010 hit, “Fuck You.”

Now, he’s back for more: “I Want You (Hold On To Love)” is Green’s fourth single from his latest solo record The Lady Killer, set to be released on July 4.

The song, which is actually a souped-up version of the LP original mixed by Jack Splash, was co-crafted by my favorite producer of the year: Fraser T Smith (Adele, Britney Spears).

Splash’s take on the track adds a deep disco bass line to the otherwise soulful production, giving the song a bit more of a swinging, summery bounce. “I want you / To run away and experience something new,” Green croons during the soaring, feel-good chorus.

Check out the official video above, in which Mr. Green fancies himself the next Liberace, gallivanting ’round Vegas with feathers, rhinestones and girls galore. How positively glam!

This track is giving me all the right vibrations. It deserves to be the next Cee Lo smash to burn straight up the charts!
