Drake Releases New Song with Aaliyah, “Enough Said”

Rumors have swirled ’round the web for months now that new music from late R&B songbird Aaliyah would be making its way to the public in late 2012, by way of one of her most unrelenting super fans: Drake.

Most recently, the blogosphere was set ablaze by a HipHopDX exclusive earlier this week claiming that the Canadian rapper would not only feature the singer on an upcoming single, but executive produce an entire LP (much to Timbaland‘s chagrin.)

And now, it’s happening.

Moments ago, a new track called “Enough Said” surfaced, produced by Noah “40” Shebib (the same producer behind much of Drake’s discography, as well as Alicia Keys‘ “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” and JoJo‘s “Demonstrate”), featuring vocals from none other than Aaliyah herself.

“I hate to see you feel this way, so tell me what can I do to make it better for you,” she gorgeously croons across the chilling, atmospheric production, similar to that of The Weeknd.

While there are some that are more than dubious about Drake’s involvement in the project (as opposed to Missy or Timbaland), this is exactly how I think Aaliyah would sound in 2012 (which is not say, however, that I care for his verse.) But merely having the opportunity to hear Aaliyah sing once again? Enough said.

Aaliyah forever.

EDIT: And now, what we’ve all actually been waiting for: A new edit of “Enough Said” has surfaced, featuring only Aaliyah’s vocals. It’s perfect.
