Though she will never be fully forgiven for her sins in the eyes of the public (and surely not with the Lord), Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter has temporarily redeemed herself by performing the National Anthem live–for once in her life–in front of a bunch of journalists.
Earlier today, the back-up singer for Michelle Williams fielded (THIS IS A TOPICAL PUN) questions about toothbrushes and Destiny’s Child reunions at the NFL Super Bowl press conference ahead of her upcoming concert on February 3, which will reportedly include cameos by popular San Francisco baby boomer dance troupe The 49ers and Raven from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
But before that mess, the “Diva” diva kicked off (THIS IS A TOPICAL PUN) the event with a live, live, really live, non-lipsynched performance of “The Star Spangled Banner,” ending with the soon-to-be iconic one-liner heard ’round the world:
“Any questions?”
Many wigs were snatched.
That is, until Crunk-R&B Queen Ciara logged onto her YouTube account and uploaded the hotly anticipated behind-the-scenes footage from her showstopping tribute to Michael Jackson/”Got Me Good” performance at VH1’s Divas 2012 in December.
And now no one cares. Sorry, Bey.
