At Long Last, The Dolly Rockers Have Put Out New Music: Listen to “One More”

Thank the sweet baby Jesus: The Dolly Rockers have put out a new song.

The Dollys undoubtedly hold the title of Longest Delayed Girl Group Debut Of All Time: Since 2009 (or was it earlier?), the troupe’s been teasing us with their ridiculously promising, feisty tunes like “Je Suis Une Dolly,” “Gold Digger” and their unreleased track (which is still arguably one of the best pop songs of the past decade), “Boys Will Be Boys.” They’ve put out brilliant covers of songs like Demi‘s “Skyscraper” and Justin Bieber‘s “Boyfriend.” And for about two years straight, they’ve been sending out mailers with photos in the studio with RedOne — but mostly detailing what they’re wearing.

It’s fine though, because even without a proper single or album out, they’re still one of the most promising girl groups — four years later. (Miss Sophie was even one of my first interview for MuuMuse! How could I not stay loyal?)

And now, out of nowhere, the girls have just plopped a new track on the web: “One More.”

The song’s a major shift in sound for the girls — less sassy kiss-off electro-pop, more laidback, RedOne-produced reggae vibes. It sort of combines the beachside laze of Paris Hilton‘s “Stars Are Blind” with the hard-hitting lyrical stuff of Heidi Montag‘s “One More Drink” (“I’m drunk, you’re drunk”), along with a seriously anthemic chorus packed with earworm melodies and endless chants.

It’s breezy, summery and endlessly repeat-ready — especially for those of us who are simply begging to be Dolly Rockered over and over again. Just give us one more track, Dollys!
