Sia’s ‘1000 Forms Of Fear’ Is Out On July 7, Panic Accordingly

Sia, Non-Lover Of Fame and Writer Of Every Song You Have Ever Heard And Loved, is about to have us cowering in fear. (1000 forms of it, to be exact.)

Ever since penning tunes like “You Lost Me” and “I Am” for Legendtina‘s ahead-of-its-time 2010 release Bionic dedicated to true lovers of music, Sia’s rapidly become pop’s biggest singer-songwriter powerhouse, writing tracks for all of our favorite Queens — including The Holy Spearit, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Kylie Minogue. (And a little ditty called “Titanium” for David Guetta, too.)

Now, she’s returning by herself after exactly four years with 1000 Forms Of Fear on July 7 (July 8 in the US), the follow-up to 2010’s We Are Born. From the official press release:

Singer/songwriter/producer/massive hit maker Sia will be releasing her brand new album 1000 FORMS OF FEAR on July 7th on RCA/Monkey Puzzle Records. Today, Sia reveals the complete track listing and album cover art. 1000 FORMS OF FEAR was produced by Greg Kurstin* and recorded at Echo Studio in Los Angeles.

The first single from 1000 FORMS OF FEAR was written by Sia and Jesse Shatkin and produced by her longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin, along with Shatkin. The video for Sia’s “Chandelier” has exploded on line with over 6.5 million views since its release last week, and stars an incredibly compelling dance performance by Maddie Zeigler (age 11) of the Lifetime Television show Dance Moms. The video was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill and shot in Los Angeles at the old Herald Examiner building in downtown LA.

Sia will be performing “Chandelier,” which I still maintain is one of Best Pop Songs of 2014, alongside Dance Moms mini-diva Maddie Ziegler on Ellen next Monday, which is bound to be quite a chandelier swingin’ spectacle.

Hang tight to your wigs, ’cause she’s about to snatch ’em….and then replace them with her own.
