L-U-V, LuvBug! (It’s Monday morning — bear with me.)
LuvBug is a rising London-based DJ and producer signed to Polydor, responsible for adding his luv to The Sats‘ “Disco Love” and Chezza‘s “Crazy Stupid Love” most recently, among other UK pop gems.
But at the same time, the UK producer’s making big moves himself.
Case in point: “Resonance,” featuring the vocal stylings of Talay Riley.
Name not resonating (eh heh)? Check out the “Introduucing” post on the soulful crooner from back in early 2011. “Sergeant Smash”!
With its piercing earworm of a chorus (“Resonance…running through my mind!” — a line that does indeed stay lodged in the brain) and searing electronic pulsations, “Resonance” plays like an instant summer smash, and situates itself nicely in the camp of 2014’s best UK club killers, including Disclosure, Clean Bandit and Gorgon City.
The accompanying visual, directed by Rob Chiu, follows a sexy couple trekking through the countryside and taking in the gorgeous scenery, only to pull over for an equally attractive, mysterious and heavily tattooed young woman hitchhiking on the road. (You know – normal.)
The series of events is a bit scattered from start to finish, so it may take a repeated viewing to digest the narrative, but the overall takeaway is just as Madonna always advises: Trust no bitch.
