You’re already well-acquainted with French DJ/producer, Cedric Gervais : He’s the one who “remixed the shit out of” Lana Del Rey‘s Born To Die Top 10 masterpiece “Summertime Sadness” (and also “Young & Beautiful”). He also did that song “Molly” in 2012 — the one that Madonna referenced when she was being really cool, hip and #unapologetic at Ultra with Avicii.
Well, he’s just done a new one, this time with the very talented singer-songwriter, Ali Tamposi.
You already know Ali too, even if you don’t realize it: She co-wrote Queen Kelly Clarkson‘s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”! Also, “Empty Words” from Legendtina‘s Lotus! And, most incredibly of all: CIARA‘S “OVERDOSE.” She’s basically an icon ’round these parts.
But back to “Love Again”: The track is, naturally, an arena-sized floor-filler. It’s also fairly by-the-numbers: A slow piano lead, a surging build-up, a powerfully crooned and perfectly catchy chorus courtesy of Miss Tamposi and then, boom: The drop. That’s festival-ready EDM in 2014 for ya!
That being said, even if the production’s entirely unsurprising, it’s a perfectly solid pump-up jam, and it ought to receive some major love on both your gym time and Friday night #TurnDownForWhat playlists.
It’d be great to have Ali’s name out there getting some recognition. Let’s hear it for one of industry’s talented singer-songwriters getting some love on the dance floor!
“Love Again feat. (Ali Tamposi)” was released on October 14. (iTunes)
