Hot as Ice

Perhaps I’ve not formally introduced my favorite Norweigan siren, Kate Havnevik. Just realize that you should already know her. Her music is in the same vein as Imogen Heap’s, except much more focus is on her vocal performance. Actually, I’d say most of her music is closely similar to Immi’s “Hide and Seek,” layered, romantic acapella. Kate’s voice is like makes me think of glistening icicles. Sounds really dirty, but I swear to you it’s not. I just wanted to include this song, because it’s so calmingly wonderful. Oh yeah, and you’ve probably heard it on Grey’s Anatomy.

Timeless is a dreamscape. It builds slowly, a swelling ballad, despite being tinged with frantic synth-plucks by the climax of the song. Click below to listen.

Now, I must eagerly await her follow-up album.

Don’t forget to buy Melankton at Amazon.

And you, what do you think?
