Daily B: Growing Dark Again

After reports confirmed Darkchild‘s return to the mixing board for Britney‘s upcoming sixth, Jerkins revealed more about the icon’s return to form in an interview with Rap-Up. And, to make my life easier, I’ve gone through and bolded the exciting/scandalous/titillating bits so as to pretend that I’ve actually put any work into reporting this!

In part 2 of our interview with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the super producer spoke exclusively to Rap-Up TV about reuniting with Britney Spears and Brandy for their new albums.

Jerkins was back in the studio with Spears for the first time in seven years to produce some tracks for the pop star’s as-yet-untitled sixth studio album, which he revealed is scheduled for an early 2009 release. With this album, the trackmaster behind Spears’ “Overprotected (Remix),” said he’s “trying to reinvent her” and described the new sound as “very dancey, really uptempo, in the clubs, real aggressive, and catchy.”

Darkchild called the superstar a “professional” and cited a recent session where she completed a song in two hours. “She walked in at 8:30 and was out by 10:30.”
