UNKLE: End Titles…Redux

Only five months after their last major release, the renowned musical and artistic innovators behind UNKLE are releasing an ambient-tinged reinterpretation of their latest album, End Titles…Stories For Film. The new creation, entitled End Titles…Redux, will only be sold in digital form, though the group is also producing a very limited edition CD run of 3000 at their official web store.

To tie in with the album’s release, The Heritage Orchestra will be performing the album’s contents on Dec. 18th at Union Chapel in London. The concert will be a part of “Marginalized,” a charity event held to benefit Margins Project, an in-house charity program seeking to aid the homeless and those in danger of losing housing.

The show promises to be both aurally and visually stunning, featuring visuals by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thorton Jones, who are widely regarded in the contemporary photography world. Two two recently collaborated with my personal favorite designer, Alexander McQueen, on his Paris showing of the Spring/Summer ’08 collection.

Take a listen to one of the upcoming tracks from the new album, “Against The Grain” below. Featuring romantic string work and ghostly echoes, the re-invented song soon lifts to ethereal heights as it goes on; a warm, welcoming piece in lieu of the approaching holiday season. Enjoy!
