Tired of “If U Seek Amy” already?
Sure hope not, because it’s time to get moving. The song has been steadily rising on the Billboard Hot 100 over the past few weeks, jumping from #35 to #26 this week and expected to only continue climbing.
While I’d initially hoped that the upcoming suite of professional mixes would fare well for the song’s danceability, I’m not so sure anymore. Frankly, they’re just plain generic.
On one hand is the Mike Rizzo mix, a rather expected affair of increased tempo and minimal bass–predictable, tame, and easily forgettable.
Then we’ve got the Bimbo Jones mix, which gets a little creative at first with a nice and stuttery introduction, but ultimately fails to slop into anything more exciting.
Where’s the energy, people?
