Swoon.
This is installment 39 of the 40 part vBlog series from Miss Imogen Heap detailing the journey’s end of Ellipse, her third solo studio effort. Following a complete and utter two-minute dork fest at the start of the video, the songstress talks about the final mastering, the photography and packaging, and that moment after sex when you’re both just sort of lying there not thinking about anything.
Aside from getting laid, there’s a really beautiful moment around the six minutes mark as Imogen describes her “stream of consciousness” instrumental, which includes the sound of an improvised piano session done in Maui streamed live for Twitter (which I caught, ’twas a brilliantly soothing moment in my work day) which has been mixed together with the sound of burning a piece of wood that held special significance to her and her family.
Speak For Yourself essentially changed my life and the way I listened to music…I expect Ellipse to do much of the same.
