Well, here we are then: The video premiere for Cheryl Cole‘s bonkers new single, “Promise This.”
To no one’s surprise in particular, it’s stunning: The ballet dancing, the flowing red dress, tight buns (I’m talking about the hair–get your head out of the gutter), and all the drama and glamour of shadows against a wall. The leading man is scorching hot. Plus, there’s some nice choreography that I wasn’t expecting (and some particularly high leg-lifts–good on you, Chezza!).
It’s all enough to make you forget that you’re listening to a song that would be considered terrible if sung by anyone else by the beautiful and ravishing Miss Cheryl Cole née Tweedy.
At the same time, X Factor Magazine revealed that Chezza’s new album will be titled Messy Little Raindrops, and that the next single after “Promise This” would be a big ballad called “The Flood,” which is described as “a massive, strong-laden, Christmassy tear-jerker about wreckage, drowning and natural disaster love…” in the magazine.
It’s all a little obvious, and I certainly can’t say that I’m on the edge of my seat for a Cheryl Cole ballad, but…it’ll do, I suppose. It’ll do.
“Promise This” will be released on October 24, with Messy Little Raindrops following in November.
What’s that? A Girls Aloud solo act duel to the death in November, you say? You can almost see Nuhdeen lacing up her boxing mitts in the corner right now.
