Happy New Year, everyone!
If you could all just take a moment to hold your hair back and sit up from the toilet bowl for a hot minute, that’d be really great.
Last night, while everyone was busy making out and rolling on E Black Swan style, Gaga kept true on the promise of her New Year’s announcement, tweeting just after midnight:

So now we know:
“Born This Way” will be released on February 13 (which is also the night of the Grammy’s, where Gaga is expected to perform the song) while Born This Way, the album, will be released on May 23.
She also Twitpic’ed the above photo (left), in which her ass is displayed. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT.
This is fantastic news for a few reasons. Apart from the obvious (new music, duh!), there was major concern brewing that Britney and Gaga’s album were about to go head to head in March. Now it seems the lead single AND album release dates for both artists have been staggered (Britney’s single due out January, Gaga in February), which means there won’t be any competition between the two.
Dueling fan-bases never make for a pleasant pop experience (especially when a vast majority happen to be fans of both in this case), so I’m ecstatic to see that 2011 will simply be packed with juicy pop from beginning to end. Music: 1, Drama: 0. Huzzah!
