And now for something amazing.
Less than a year after releasing their dreamy eleventh studio album Elysium, the prolific Pet Shop Boys have announced that they’ve parted ways with their longtime label Parlophone Records after 28 years, signing a deal through Kobalt Music Services, which recently opened a Label Services division.
But that’s not all–they’ve already got a new album on the way called Electric (!), out in June (!!), produced by Stuart Price. (!!!)
For those unfamiliar, Price is the musical mastermind behind Madonna‘s Confessions On A Dance Floor, Scissor Sisters‘ Night Work and Kylie‘s Aphrodite. Basically, he makes perfect things even perfect-er.
And, just to make it all even better, we’ve already been given a teeny taste of what’s to come in the form of an album trailer. Unsurprisingly, it sounds brilliant — a punchy, uptempo response to their chilled-out 2012 offering.
Bring it on.
