It’s been one month since the fabulous fivesome known as Fifth Harmony arrived onto the pop scene with their explosive, Demi-meets-Kelly break-up anthem: “Miss Movin’ On.”
The full Hannah Lux Davis-directed video for the track just premiered today — and of course, it’s perfect. Duh! Why wouldn’t it be?
Having suffered the wrongdoings of their former flames for far too long, the girls decide to head down to a local carnival, determined to put the past behind once and for all and enjoy a girls’ night out full of popcorn, giggling and duckface selfies. And so, with a quick toss away of their personal trinkets and photographs — Rip that shit up, Camila! Toss that necklace to the ground, Ally! — they’re off to have some fun.
From there, it’s purely girls gone wild (err, not in that way.) Bumper cars, ring toss, giant teddy bears — tough life, right? Also, it looks like Lauren‘s getting some action on the ferris wheel. Get that rebound D, girl!
The video’s one big, bubbly explosion of bright lights, vibrant colors and five pretty young things bursting with personality. And that’s what it should be! (That’s not to dismiss them as a bubblegum act — we know they’ve got a deeper, more soulful element that I’m really hoping they’ll explore soon.) But for now, this feels like just the right way to launch a longstanding career.
“Miss Movin’ On” was released on July 16. (iTunes)
