It might have taken a few years and some major label struggles, but the wait is over: X Factor UK alum-turned-superstar Cher Lloyd‘s Sorry I’m Late is here — and it’s one of the year’s most fun pop records.
The collection is truly modern pop at its bubbliest, breeziest and brattiest, packaged by a drool-worthy roster of today’s most reliable hitmakers, including Carl Falk, Max Martin, Rami Yacoub, Benny Blanco, Shellback and Matt Squire. In fact, Cher had enough stone cold solid pop gems on the album to release not one, but six promotional tracks before the album’s release — from the incredibly soaring power ballad “Sirens” (which I listen to daily) to the mesmerizing “Bind Your Love” to her Avril-like party rocker, “M.F.P.O.T.Y.”
One week before the album hits the shelves (err, iTunes), Sorry I’m Late is now streaming in full on MTV.
Along with all the songs we’ve already heard, there are a handful of great new tunes to lurve — the sparkling album closer “Alone With Me,” for one, is an instant new favorite. Proper review to come soon, hopefully. In the meantime…enjoy!
‘Sorry I’m Late’ will be released on May 27. (iTunes)
