I dance feelings like they’re spoken.”

That’s one of the most representative lines off of the oft-voguing, otherworldly FKA twigsLP1, and also a key line from her latest song, “Pendulum,” which the singer has just translated into visual form.

The tensely sexual track, a highlight from the record, has been outfitted (or tied up, really) with a rope-clad, bondage-laden clip, perfectly timed for the Fifty Shades Of Grey buzz. Ingeniously paced, the camera moves slowly from an extreme facial close-up to a grand reveal of the avant garde artist mid-suspension.

It’s an intimate and gorgeous affair of skin, rope and braids (and some silver 3D goo, just for good measure) that only gets more impressive as the song goes on, from a very painful looking invisible tug of war using her hair, to a very Björk-like “Hunter”-meets-“All Is Full Of Love” metallic sequence, to a captivating display of her expressive dancing skills.

FKA twigs is truly a visionary for the new age, and we’re so lucky to have her.

‘LP1’ was released on August 12. (iTunes)
