We know and love Rihanna the most because of her relentless ratchetry and shade on Instagram and Twitter, her phlaw-free discography and her phresh off the runway sense of style. But as it turns out, RiRi’s got some phucks (and a whole lot of heart) when it comes to giving back.
Last night, the Unapologetic princess hosted her inaugural Diamond Ball, a charity event in support of her Clara Lionel Foundation, which seeks to globally improve the quality of life in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. The charity was formed in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel. (“Ladies, watch out, he’s lookin’ hella cute tonight,” she joked when introducing her granddad in her opening speech.) And, after a dinner and an auction, Rih took to the stage — with an orchestra, no less — to perform a ton of her hits.
But what would the Barbadian beauty perform in front of a room full of philanthropists, celebrities and investors? Maybe something classy, like “We All Want Love”?
No, bitch. She sang “Pour It Up.” Strip clubs and dollar bills…ORCHESTRAL.
Queen of everything.
She also sang a million other songs — “Run This Town,” “Hate That I Love You,” “Cold Case Love” (OH MY GOD), “Diamonds,” “Umbrella,” “Love The Way You Lie” and “Where Have You Been,” too.
At some point in the evening, Big Sean came out and surprised the crowd with a performance, too. Naturally, Rih turned all the way up to “I Don’t Fuck With You” — because as we all know, the best RiRi is still Audience RiRi.
Godney bless, Rih. You are truly an inspiration.
