The 7th season of UK X Factor brought us a deluge of superstar talent, including Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle and One Direction, yet it’s the otherwise shy, soulful runner-up Rebecca Ferguson that’s been making some of loudest noise on the charts lately.
After debuting at #3 on the UK Albums Chart in early December, Ferguson’s debut album Heaven has gone on to achieve platinum certification, rave reviews from every major UK news outlet, and has become the second-fastest selling debut album in the UK in 2011 (the first being One Direction–never doubt the power of tweens!).
Now, following the release of her debut single “Nothing’s Real But Love” back in December (which was released in January on US iTunes, interesting…), Ferguson returns on March 4 with “Too Good To Lose,” one of the many tracks co-penned and produced by Adele hit-maker, Eg White.
“I say my prayer now/Just say the word, and I could be there now,” Ferguson croons above the majestic chorus, sizzling with just the right amount of swinging ’60’s soul and warm, unexpected flairs of electronica. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
But just like when she tackled Robin S‘s impeccable ’90’s classic “Show Me Love” on the show, Ferguson doubles as a fabulous disco diva as well, which is why the newly debuted Seamus Haji remix of “Too Good To Lose” is…well, too good to miss!
“Too Good To Lose” will be released on March 4. (iTunes)
