Don’t worry: She’s still, she’s still Jenny from the block.
Earlier today, Jennifer “(feat. Pitbull)” Lopez dropped the video (it’s currently streaming exclusively at Complex — watch it there) for the Chris Brown and Cory Rooney-produced “Same Girl,” her not-a-single-but-still-getting-a-video new track about remembering your roots. I’ve already expressed my hesitation regarding Jennifer Lopez’s recent musical output, so my thoughts on the song are more or less the same. (In short: It’s alright, but no “Get Right.”)
The accompanying video was shot guerrilla style (otherwise known as Cloverfield style), follows the On The 6 diva through the Bronx as she #authentically boards the 6 train, rocks out on a rooftop in a fur wrap and a Yankees cap, stunts in front of graffitied brick walls and poses with fans who (rightfully) start shaking and crying over the superstar in the middle of the streets.
You see? She’s still the same girl from the streets — rooftop orchestra and all.
Alternatively, remember this?
