First things first: King Deco is, in fact, a Queen. (The “King” part of her name represents her “quest for strength and sustainability in a male-oriented world,” just as a little FYI.)
From the moment I first heard “One” (it’s a lucky debut single title, for sure), I knew Jordan-bred, NYC-based singer-songwriter could be the one.
With a featherlight voice that fits in snugly somewhere between Lights and Kaskade crooner Haley Gibby, the singer-songwriter glides us across the hauntingly atmospheric production, resulting in something a bit mysterious and ethereal all at once — not entirely unlike BANKS. “Lead me to your sea/Why don’t we go deep?” she longingly coos.
“One,” which was produced by Felix Snow, is the first taste of King Deco’s upcoming mini EP Tigris due out on April 7th, which features production by ASTR‘s Adam Pallin, Tim “One Love” Sommers and Cobra Starship‘s Ryland Blackinton.
Give “One” a spin and get lost in the sound. It’s lush love at first play. Could King Deco be the one?
The ‘Tigris’ EP will be released on April 7. (Official Website)
