“Heroes”: Tove Lo Hits The Dance Floor With Alesso

When Tove Lo isn’t getting high all the time or falling head-over-heels in love (but not on drugs), the Queen Of The Clouds also enjoys getting down on the dance floor.

Mega-popular Swedish DJ Alesso, who’s scored a ton of hits with some key collaborators over the past few years including “Calling (Lose My Mind)” with Sebastian Ingrosso and Ryan Tedder and “Under Control” with Calvin Harris and Hurts, enlisted the rising pop songbird for an uplifting burst of dance floor empowerment.

“Everyday people do everyday things, but I can’t be one of them/I know you hear me now, we are a different kind, we can do anything,” Tove urges. She’s talking to you!

“We could be heroes, me and you!” Tove melodically coos above the soaring chorus (a nod to Bowie‘s own “Heroes”?), leading to an inevitable beat drop of speaker-shaking proportions.

Yes, it’s the stuff of EDM festivals and kandi and #plur and all of that. And yes, it’s not breaking any new ground that David Guetta or Avicii haven’t already covered. But “Heroes” is still a massive anthem for clubland, and I’m all in.

Besides, anything Tove touches turns to Swede-pop gold.
