It’s that time once again: MuuTunes just keeps getting better.
I know, I’ve been doing weekly updates as the month went on for the past few months — but I decided that’s just silly. Also, doing song-by-song descriptions was silly. Makes more sense to unleash the whole playlist all at once at the end of the month and shut up about it, right? Right.
August’s MuuTunes includes a whole bunch of music I’ve been very, very excited about all month long (WELL, OBVIOUSLY) — from Hilary Duff‘s flirty, folksy “All About You,” to Neon Hitch‘s emancipation anthem “Yard Sale,” to a taste of FKA twigs‘ phenomenal LP1, to the shining album highlight of Ariana Grande‘s overcooked My Everything, to Jennifer Hudson‘s slick disco gem “Dangerous” to offerings from the Queens of Romania Alexandra Stan and Inna. Phew!
Kicking off the collection is a song I wanted to highlight in particular: Pop up-and-comer Chelsea Lankes‘ impeccable “Secret,” the follow-up to her gorgeous 2013 debut “Ghost.” It’s absolutely divine (and sort of reminds me of Jennifer Paige‘s “Crush” for whatever reason), and deserves to be given all your L-U-V.
That being said, if Britney‘s iconic “Bored (Just Do It)” Instagram dance floor slayer were on Spotify, this month’s playlist would just be that song 20 times in a row.
