Having just notched her fourth Top 10 hit this year with “Love Me Harder feat. (The Weeknd),” #LeftSideOnly mumble-diva Ariana Grande is certainly having a mighty fine 2014. And, with her brand new contribution to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 soundtrack, she’s going to keep us breaking free right into the New Year.
As it turned out, the mystery track from the Lorde-curated, fan-fiction looking Hunger Games soundtrack is in fact a collaboration between Ari and Diplo‘s side-gig Major Lazer called “All My Love.” And, in the way of all things highly anticipated, it has just hit the Interwebz.
“All My Love” is seriously great — its sort of like if “We Found Love” were tailored for an arena of death (AND DISCO DANCING), as the pint-sized pop princess dreamily croons above throbbing, vaguely tribal pulsations. The beat is really rich, and the crooning is, as always, luscious and semi-undecipherable: “Sometimes I think we’re the brightest stars in the tray,” is it? “All my love, I know we’re waiting for…something mountaintop”? I still don’t know what the fuck she’s singing, but…hey, can’t everyone just put away their weapons and dance?! Vogue it out, District 12!
Slay me, Ariana! But not actually. (If the stream above doesn’t work, try this.)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 soundtrack will be released on November 17. (iTunes)
