Today, March 25, 2015, is a date which will live in infamy: Zayn Malik, The Hot One, has left One Direction.
Do you understand? Zayn has Geri Halliwell-ed.
He has Justin Timberlake-d.
He has Robbie Williams-ed.
In a statement on their Facebook, the teeny-bop sensations say they plan to release a fifth studio album, but let’s face it: We’ve seen this happen time and time again.
The global reign of One Direction, as far as we know it, is over.
After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.
There’s also a statement from Zayn himself. This is probably the most :( part:
I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.
The remaining boys are still out on tour, and it looks like they’re doing just fine as a foursome:
It’s probably best not to log on to Twitter right now. Or the Internet in general.
But hey, at least there’s that Latino One Direction that Ricky Martin and Simon Cowell are putting together later this year, right? Err. Wait there. I’ll grab some tissues.
