It’s happening. It’s happening. It’s happening.

Dua Lipa. Madonna. Missy Elliott.

After weeks of rumors, rumblings and rampant speculation, it’s now a confirmed fact: the Future Nostalgia diva, Miss Peep, is teaming up with the dancer, professor, head of state, housekeeper, equestrian, part-time retail sales associate and Queen of Pop™ herself, Madame X, and the Supa Dupa Fly Ms. Missy Misdeanor for a whole new take on “Levitating,” one of the many standouts from Dua’s sophomore record, which remains an Album of the Year contender – and it’s due out on August 14.

“LEVITATING REMIXED BY THE BLESSED MADONNA FEATURING MY IDOLS MADONNA & MISSY ELLIOTT – 14TH OF AUGUST – DREAM COME TRUE LETS GO!!!!!!,” Dua announced on Instagram on Monday (July 27).

The Blessed Madonna, for those who don’t already know, is the name of the American DJ formerly known as The Black Madonna, known for crafting official remixes for anthems like Robyn‘s “Indestructible” and Dua’s “Electricity” with Silk City, among many others.

In many ways, this was kismet: Dua drops Madonna’s name as an inspiration in interviews about as frequently as Gaga mentions she’s an Italian girl from New York City (did you know?), one of Future Nostalgia‘s greatest influences is Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, and “Levitating” was co-crafted by none other than the Confessions king himself, Stuart Price. Our gay, lucky stars have just aligned.

This will mark Madge’s first musical move since last year’s Madame X, and Missy’s first since 2019’s Iconology EP. As for Dua, she only just dropped the charming animated video for poppers anthem “Hallucinate” this month, and currently commands the No. 1 spot at U.S. Top 40 Radio with “Break My Heart.” She, quite simply, continues to Dua no wrong with this era.

Miss Peep’s Main Pop Girl status? A confirmed, card-carrying member.

And with one half of the 2003 MTV VMA “Hollywood” performance in the mix, one can only hope that Britney and Christina are waiting in the wings in their wedding dresses for a “Levitating” re-remix immediately afterward.

Prepare yourselves accordingly: Confessions on a Dua Floor is real, and it’s coming soon.
