Every now and then, an amazing British pop song manages to make it across the pond. It doesn’t occur too often — remember how long it took for Ellie Goulding to really happen?
Luckily, another one just made the leap: Naughty Boy‘s 2013 #1 UK smash “La La La” featuring the BBC’s Sound Of 2014 list-topper and “Money On My Mind” crooner Sam Smith, is officially heading stateside — nearly one year later.
If you’re not already familiar with the original, get acquainted. (The accompanying video’s already racked up an unbelievable 240+ million views which is, like, half a “Wrecking Ball.”)
According to AllAccess, the track is just now taking off on Top 40/Mainstream radio in America this week — and it’s almost destined to become a smash stateside.
To celebrate, there’s this: A newly commissioned remix of “La La La” by Colorado-based producer/DJ James Egbert, which gives a song a slammin’ slice of Saturday night-ready club beats and scorching hot breakdowns.
In the immortal words of American poetess Ashlee Simpson, this certainly makes me want to la la.
“La La La (feat. Sam Smith)” was released on December 10 in the US. (iTunes)
