Utada: Hitting The Boob Tubes

According to Video Static, Anthony Mandler will be directing Utada‘s comeback single, “Come Back To Me” for the States.

For those unaware of Anthony Mandler’s past works, this is massive, exciting news. Mandler was also the creator responsible for videos including Rihanna‘s “Disturbia” (which was reported incorrectly as the work of David LaChapelle in the past), Nelly Furtado‘s “Maneater,” and–most thrilling of all–the video for Spice Girls‘ “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).”

My target expectations have been officially set. So start calibrating your lasers now; somewhere between “uh-mazing” and “utter disappointment” for good measure.
