Bat For Lashes Makes A Gorgeous Return with “Laura”

Bat for Lashes is very much back.

Three years after releasing her phenomenal 2009 record Two Suns, the English spook-pop songstress is returning with her third studio set, The Haunted Man. And today, the promotional duties have officially begun.

Above is the amazing newly released LP artwork, which was shot by acclaimed photographer Ryan McGinley. You see, it’s Miss Natasha Khan in nothing but her birthday suit, carrying around an equally nude boy. Come to think of it, this looks an awful lot like how I got home last Saturday night. Hm.

Along with the album cover, Khan also unveiled the first taste of music from her upcoming album: “Laura.” The gorgeous, ghostly piano-led ballad–which will be available as a free download at midnight upon pre-order on iTunes–is yet another heaven-sent offering from the songstress.

“Oh Laura, you’re more than a superstar/You’ll be famous for longer than them, your name is tattooed on every boy’s skin,” Khan cries out, evoking the dramatic delivery of Kate Bush and Annie Lennox. The haunted, distant crooning toward the end of the song will inspire a chill or three, especially.

Just incredible all around.

The Haunted Man will be released on October 15. (iTunes)
