While Saint Lana Del Rey heads back into the studio in California to record her new “spiritual, stripped down” record (already dying and/or dead), her loyal followers are still singing the gospel of Born To Die on the daily.
Earlier this week, Monarchy released their spacey take on “Video Games.” And now, we’ve got a cover of Paradise‘s “American” by none other than Simon Cowell‘s favorite X Factor crooners, Fifth Harmony.
Wait. I know what you’re thinking, Queen B: 5H covering Lana Del Rey? Seems really weird. But listen, please…
Right?
Seriously though, this cover is fucking bananas o’clock amazing.
The girls take the track and give it a melodic twist that really loosens up the lonesome, worldweary quality of Lana’s original and gives it a feel good freshness. Their voices are only continuing to improve individually–and more importantly, their harmonies. They really are living up to their name! (Queen Camila‘s obviously killing it as per usual in her appropriately patriotic top.) Be young, be dope, be proud girls!
This ought to be one hell of a debut record. Because when it comes to Fifth Harmony, anything could happen.
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
