There comes a time in every young woman’s life when she experiences her first real heartbreak, develops a tough exterior, dip her hands in black goo and put up her defenses (and hands) ’cause she don’t want to fall in love.
Demetria Lovato, giver of Heart Attacks and Breaks, has premiered the long-teased music video for her Nikki Williams-penned single, “Heart Attack.”
The video essentially wavers between two settings: A Kelly Clarkson-esque rocking affair in an abandoned warehouse/church/wherever you go to set up a full band and ‘rawk out,’ sort of like…
…And some sort of clinical looking (PAGING DR. LOVATO!) white room where Demi’s had way, way too much fun finger-painting. The walls are dripping! Or has she simply gone overboard while painting her nails like a girl? As Dannii would moan: Dirty hands, I demand. It’s all a little bit…
Her ‘in between’ look is the best however, where she’s breaking down…but not quite having a heart attack.
The black and white aesthetic throughout helps to explain the #BLACKOUT and #WHITEOUT Twitter teasers that have been used to reveal bits and pieces of the campaign so far (which subsequently led to “Is she really copying Britney‘s Blackout?!” panic atta-a-ah-AH-AHCKs shortly thereafter.)
Could have used some actual hearts and/or attacks, but what can you do? There’s an oily situation on her hands. Someone get Demi a Tide To Go pen, stat!
“Heart Attack” was released on February 25. (iTunes)
