“Drop That Kitty”: Get Down Low With Ty Dolla $ign, Charli XCX And Tinashe

Grab your kitties and report to the dance floor: It’s Charlinashe time.

After photos began to surface online last week from the set of the video for “Drop That Kitty,” Ty Dolla $ign‘s highly anticipated collabo with Charli XCX and Tinashe, the unlikely tag team troupe’s just dropped the track (and that kitty!) down low to iTunes at midnight tonight.

The urban club thumper combines a lil’ bit of everything from all the players involved across a minimal, Stargate and Cashmere Cat-produced stinging beat. If anything, the track most closely recalls Papa John’s pizza enthusiast Iggy Azalea‘s own Charli XCX collabo/inescapable Summer of ’14 smash, “Fancy.”

With some shout-y sass from Madame XCX and Slaynashe’s melodic voice beamed in directly from the stars above, this “Kitty” isn’t something any of them would likely drop solo: It’s a combined effort of feisty pop hooks, cool crooning and hip-hop heat all in one go.

The song itself, clearly, is an ode to cat lovers. It’s all about getting down with cats in the clurb!

And the instructions for having fun with your feline are fairly straightforward:

1.) Drop that kitty down low.
2.) Pop that kitty down low.
3.) Shop that like a window.
4.) Take that video phone.

It’s a good ol’ pussycat poppin’ party! Let’s just hope no one’s got any cat allergies on the dance floor…
