“I’ll Be There”: CHIC And Nile Rodgers Return (With The Help Of Karlie Kloss In Her Underwear)

Watch Karlie Kloss get her rocks off in the middle of some classic records and then turn it out on the dance floor to the sound of CHIC’s new single.

CHIC, C’est la vie! (C’est bon, c’est bon…)

Nile Rodgers and the classic disco troupe responsible for “Le Freak,” “I Want Your Love” and about a million other disco gems are back in action with “I’ll Be There,” a burst of nostalgic, feel-good sound…and their first single in 23 (!) years.

With the help of a few famous friends, including Taylor Swift‘s supermodel BFF/lover Karlie Kloss and Stephen Galloway, the renowned musician rides high off the success of his smash hit Daft Punk collaboration “Get Lucky” and transports us back to the fabulous days of bell bottoms, flashing lights and Studio 54.

The Inez & Vinoodh-directed video sees Karlie rolling around in her undies watching some vintage Soul Train amid a vinyl spread that was clearly pulled straight from my own personal collection without my knowing — Grace Jones! Madonna! Diana Ross! — before heading to Pacha for the night of her life.

“‘I’ll Be There’ is a moving concept for me about decisions we make in life. We’ve tried to capture all the nuances in the full length video and still keep it fun. Karlie Kloss connects the past and present. She sees the original group (who plays this track) on Soul Train. She is visualizing the past by looking at old school vinyl – then goes out to a current party to meet up with Stephen Galloway and the current #CHIC lineup happens to be playing live.”

It’s a sexy, glamorous and thoroughly euphoric affair…the very heart and soul of disco. Welcome back, CHIC!

“I’ll Be There” was released on March 20. (iTunes)
